Hey Guys…
if anyone is interested in doing the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk, details are on http://www.royalcanin.co.za/walkthetalk/index.php
DATE | Sunday 25 July 2010
VENUE | Marks Park, Emmerentia
DISTANCE | Dogs are only permitted to walk the 5km and 8km routes
This past weekend we had the prize giving for the 2009 season in JHB. The event was at the JHB Country Club in Woodmead.
As soon as all the results are mailed to me, we’ll update the site – but in the mean time… here are some pics from the evening.
Usually, when we see each other at the hunts, it’s at 8am on a cold, wintery Sunday morning. We are all more often than not tired/hungover/flu-ish and dressed in our oldest, dodgiest jeans, beanies, caps and jackets. Oh, and covered in beagle hair and dirty paw prints!!
So, to be all dressed up, and not dragged around by a beagle is a different experience for us!
We all clean up pretty well, don’t you think??!?
PS Thanks to Sarah for the photos!
– you really seemed to capture the festive mood and happy atmosphere

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN MAKING THIS BEAGLING SEASON A HUGE SUCCESS AND LOADS OF FUN. WE HAVE MADE SUCH GOOD FRIENDS AND HAD A BLAST. IT MAKES THOSE EARLY SUNDAY MORNINGS WORTHWHILE!!
To all involved in organising the prize giving event THANK YOU – it was fabulous!
More details to follow once everything is finalized…

We hope to have LOTS of new people at the ball, to celebrate the great work their new hounds have done this year, and to motivate them for next season!!
Should you wish to attend – please email me by 10 October!
Hi Everyone,
With the hunting season just about over for this year, I have been getting a few enquiries (especially from new-comers) about what we do in the Summer months…
Our hunts are only held in the cooler months because it is just way too hot for the beagles to run such distances in the heat.
I have been thinking about having a get together once a month in Summer, at various places in JHB (Emmarentia, Walkhaven, Lonehill Koppie etc). So we can all keep in touch, and give our beagles something to look forward to, and keep them in touch with their beagle friends!
I was thinking something very informal, no fees, or replies or (much) organising necessary… Just pitch up where we decide to meet, maybe bring your own picnic basket and just have a fun morning.
Obviously these days would not be “Beagle-Only” events, so those of us with non-beagles can bring the other four-legged members of our family.
Please let me know if you would be interested in joining such an event…! – Just leave a comment below this post, or drop me an email!
- Happy Beagling!
Tanya
Hi Everyone!
The 4th of October is World Animal Day!
The Society for Animals in Distress is hosting a fun run & walk to raise money and provide a fun morning for those who would like to join in. The cost is R20 per human – animals walk free. The walk starts at 8am, get there before 7:30am to register, or email Bev to book your spot. They have requested booking early via email and paying in advance to make things easier on the morning! There is a 2.5km and a 5km walk.
The Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) is a non profit organisation which does FANTASTIC work! They educate people in the townships on how to look after their pets. They offer veterinary services to those animals in the townships, and sterilise, vaccinate and de-worm them. They also rescue abused horses and donkeys from the townships.
They are a wonderful bunch of people who do such amazing work!
Please think about coming along to their walk in Midrand… All well socialised, leashed dogs are welcome. By this time our Beagle Hunting will be over – so, there is no excuse!
Let’s show them how it’s done, Beagle Style!! I hope to see you there!
